Perfect for adding in fats for less fatty cuts of beef for my keto diet! I ordered this just to try it since I also ordered the pork lard which I really like. This is so crumbly even at room temperature. I really have no desire to use this small tub since it's so unpleasant to try to use. Just beware it's not at all moist as you would think fat to be. Love it! And a little goes a long way! I love this product, have gotten rid of suspect olive oils for making my omelets, and replaced with this! Very little is needed, high smoke point, healthy fat, yay! It has a light "burger" smell that I was not used to, but don't worry, cooks clean and even, imparts great flavor. The small tub is actually quite large. I was happy to see that this tub contained more than I anticipated. I wanted to keep it at room temp, but knew I wouldn't use it all within a month. I got a cheap silicone soap bar mold with 4 oz rectangular cavities, melted all the tallow and let it set up in the molds in the freezer.
I then wrapped them with a layer of freezer paper followed by a bit of foil to help keep it closed. Each bar is the equivalent of a stick of butter so it's super easy to eyeball tablespoons for recipes.
